Environmental Impact

Statements

Certain public and private projects which exceed criteria outlined in EU Directives are required to have a study completed on their potential effect on the environment. These studies generally take the form of an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) or Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA).

David Slattery Architects have prepared the Heritage Chapter of Environmental Impact Statements for several large projects. This process involves studying the existing heritage, assessing the potential impact of the proposed intervention on the heritage, suggesting mitigation measures to be introduced to minimise impacts and providing all mapping and photographic records which would be necessary to complete such a study.

The following EIS's have been contributed to to date:

Heritage Chapter for the proposed LUAS BXD project for Railway Procurement Agency

Heritage Chapter for the proposed DART interconnector project for Iarnrod Eireann

Development of the former Ford Factory in Cork
